I really rate The Invisible. I liked that album, even interviewed them because I liked them so much and they were coming over for a gig, so yeah.
No White Lies is a complete an utter travesty!!! Argh argh!
Kasabian and La Roux?!? Seriously? I mean, they're good, but nothing THAT special.
The Horrors should get some kind of Chameleon Award for the biggest successful change in sound that I can ever recall.
For me, I hope Friendly Fires gets it.
I enjoy seeing the Mercury list each year. Always surprises. Typically shew ins. It's also difficult to say who will pick up the prize (unlike the Grammys or Oscars). Suffice it to say, I think Friendly Fires, Glasvegas or Bat For Lashes have the best chances.
The last few years its been boy gangs who have won; Elbow, Monkeys, Klaxons. So this year I think Bat for Lashes or Florence......maybe....
Should be either Bat For Lashes or The Horrors, but then again, the Mercury Prize is very much inconsistent in picking worthy winners. (That said, Antony and the Johnsons in '05 and Elbow last year were sound choices. Probably would have chosen Burial's Untrue over The Seldom-Seen Kid but what can you do...)
10 quid on Florence getting it.
I wouldn't charge that much to give it to her
What, no Micachu? Travesty! I'm betting on Bat for Lashes.
I love the Mercury Prize shortlist comparison site that Big Red Shop have done. You can save loads of time finding the cheapest deals for CDs and downloads for all 12 of the nominated albums.
