WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

David Vandervelde at Spaceland

vandervelde's record has some great vintage sounds reminiscent of t-rex, bowie, the moody blues and george harrisoni was definitely interested in seeing how that all translated live, especially the tunes like "murder in michigan" that have lush string arrangementsand vandervelde went in the absolute opposite direction with a super stripped down approachthe classic rock power trio is indeed alive and wellthe bassist was great and i think i saw him playing with bobby bare, jr. a few months back. he's working the handle bar moustache quite well i must saythe drummer was reminiscent of mitch mitchell and vandervelde's guitar playing was a combo of neil young and jimi hendrix, a bit over the top at times, but his talent was very much on displayi like the production on the record, but if you want some good hard rock, check out the live show
