Oh what a night!
Henry of Me and the Horse I Rode In On fame is booking a living room tour of America for Christian Kjellvander and his lovely wife Therese.
Their first stop, my rooftop in NYC.
It was an idyllic urban evening filled with soft breezes and beautiful folk songs.
My friends were drinking and smoking away while listening listfully to Christian's perfectly penned pop folk masterpieces.
I opened up and had a few friends sit in on guitar and back up vox, and then Christian and Therese hit it out of the park. It was a really special night that I will not soon forget. Husband and wife harmonies are almost as magical as family harmonies. If you've seen Rufus Wainwright and his folks and sister harmonize, you know what I'm talking about.
Christian recently opened up for the one and only Leonard Cohen in his homeland, Sweden, and you can tell why after seeing him live. Attached is my favorite by him, though I definitely prefer it on my roof with just him, a guitar and his wife. I think you would agree.
If you're in L.A., you must host them! I believe they will be passing through and are looking for the right living room to grace with their presence.
What an intimate, hip, paradisical evening...........
With all the new venues popping up in NYC and all the great rooms, I think I had 'em beat this night. If I didn't mind charging a cover for people to walk through my bedroom onto the roof, I could have a real income stream here!

Of sure rub it in Neil.
Glad it when well. Great pics.
What a great idea on the rooftop venue. Bedrooms are over rated anyway, I mean who needs sleep?
the sleep part actually wouldn't bother me if could fund my next album, only host artists i like, and somehow get rid of the infinite little tar particles that inevitably roll all over my bedroom floor!
Can you tell spelling isn't my strong suit.
Wish I'd been there, too. Beautiful sounds. And what a setting for a musical set.
wow, kind of wish that I could have been there for this. It is just how I would imagine New York to be, the pictures were great
i guess i'll just have to start selling seats so we can fly in all the moggers for free!
shit, I would make the drive for a concert like that
That looks good my friend. Really good.
As Dr. John would croon... "...such a night..." Looks amazing, and I'm sure that the music matched. Cool that you opened up for them too have been enjoying the links you sent. Rock on brother.
can't play the music, do I need to be part of some special MOG club or is it just me?? I will try again later. Was pretty cool setting, my favorite, outdoors with special friends and good music, yes, heaven on earth mate! Cheers, INdy x
so glad you are digging it van!
indy, no idea why it won't play for you
only the mog gremlins know such answers
looks like one hellova party!
I so want to participate in the Living Room shows in some way, shape or form...but life has been a little too hectic as of late. It sounds like a truly one-of-a-kind evening. This is what online social networking is all about! And what you said about husband and wife harmonies is so true...so much depth of emotion and chemistry.
i caught a girl friend boy friend harmony last night at my friend's show and it was equally compelling
twould be nice if we could slow the pace down a bit in life when it gets hectic and just push the pause button
When the language of love and music intertwine, you're in for a treat. If I were a superhero, I'd either want the power of time travel/teleporting or the power of telepathy. OR BOTH! They would call me Telekat.
Can you tell it's been a long day with a lot of coffee?
i like your name and your power telekat
that's some good caffeinated thinking!
don't know if you ever saw Saved By the Bell, they had that power to stop time....I would rearrange stuff on people that were annoying to me, just to confuse them! no one said that telekat is a benevolent superhero.
