Beachwood Sparks - Oh That Cali High

Caught The Willowz and Beachwood Sparks last night at the Bowery Ballroom, definitely one of the better sounding rooms here in NYC.
The Willowz were fun, some real boogie, strong high tenor rock vocals, kind of Geddy meets Jack, and some americana thrown in for good measure.
But the natural majesty of Beachwood Sparks was something special. I swear, as soon as they played my favorite tune, Canyon Ride, I had a palpable feeling of lightness, freedom, and pure happiness.
Perhaps it was my fourth Guinness, but Guinness has never left me feeling that way before.
No, it was their effortless, pedal steel infused, Byrdsy, Calironia breeze rock that did it.
And I must have more!

i love those guys and didn't realize they were still a out and about. haven't seen their name around in quite awhile in LA. love mixing at the BB as well--one of my favorite joints to work at. probably won't be there again 'til New Year's Eve, although i'm not sure if Patti Smith's confirmed yet.
thanks for the heads up!
cool, you will have to reach out when you arrive!
No, it was their effortless, pedal steel infused, Byrdsy, Calironia breeze rock that did it. Yeah, that would do it for me as well
Whoa! I really like this. Guinness has never made me feel light or free....always makes me feel full & heavy :) Must've been the music.
agreed! such a floaty, happy, airiliciousness that it defeated the weight of multiple guinesses.
That's really saying something too, since 1 Guiness could easily constitute as a light meal.
