Happy Dia De Los Muertos to all my friends! This is my weird and wild homage to this holiday, deftly directed by my friend Vaj Potenza, dp'd by the inimitable Ric Serena, and insanely choreographed by Suzanne Rydz. Thanks to Rebecca Trent for letting us shoot at her very tasty restaurant and bar, The Creek, in LIC. Michael Jackson's Thriller, eat your heart out, this is how we shoot things in NYC in one day, with next to no budget!
In hindsight, I really should have purchased that jacket, instead of just renting it. Dang it! That day was freezing, but twas quite fun to prance about in a pretentious fashion with the T Rex/Beethoven jacket and fondle a coffin.
The tune is my lap steel heavy cover of Beethoven's Fur Elise. Thanks to Mike Slo Mo Brenner for his zany production and general lap steel artistry. He's toured and recorded with Marah and Jason Molina among many others.
And my boy Vaj, also directed My Brightest Diamond's Freak Out Gold Chains Remix in hilarious fashion, which I posted below.

Coffin hugger! Loved the colors in the first vid..you rolled right over B to the Ven.
Thanks Cody, at first when the director told me to fondle the coffin, I was slightly freaked out, but the more I did it, the more I enjoyed it. Perhaps if we all embraced our death in said fashion, the world would be a kinder place!
