YOU CAN'T NOT GET NO SATISFACTION

New Album On The Way From Von Bondies

Posted over 2 years ago
The Von Bondies have completed their third album, Love, Hate and then there's You (Sire). It was produced and recorded by Peter Katis (Interpol, The National, Spoon, Rainer Maria, Clem Snide, Mice Parade, Oneida, The Philistines Jr., Get Up Kids) at his Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, CT, and will be released this year. Here is video (and "rough cut") of "Pale Bride," a song that will likely be on the new album. It's currently posted on the group's myspace page. It was filmed by Daren, Jason Stollsteimer and Butch Walker.Musician/producer Butch Walker also worked on the album. He told writer Gary Graff recently that working with the Detroit band was “a blast.“It’s cool,” he told Graff. “It’s not garage rock. I think it would be played-out if they tried to do that since they were early on with it anyway. It’s a little bit of a reinvention, and I think it’s really good. It’s just ... rock.” The group began recording the album in January of 2006. Writing shortly after they started on the group's website, drummer Don Blum described the scene: "Lately, we've been recording at Tarquin Studios, which is run by a man named Peter Katis. His studio is located on the third floor of a huge Victorian house in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Marcie, Yasmine, Jason, and I live in separate bedrooms on the second floor of the house. And the kitchen and living room, with its ridiculously large "HDTV," is on the first floor. Peter lives in a whole other wing of the place. At night, when we're done recording for the day, he retires to his side of the manor. It's kind of like being the guest of Count Dracula or something, except without any frightening crap going on. Unless you count seeing the rest of the band first thing in the morning as frightening. Which it is. Hell yes, mothersucker! Score one for the Dee-Double-Bee-Sees!"Last August the group asked it's fans to vote on which of two names they perfered for the album titled:"Modern Saints" or "Love, Hate and then there's you."
