WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Blue October

Posted over 2 years ago
I thought my kids seemed kind of young at 11 and 12 to be so into videos and the latest music, and then I remembered being only 8 years old during the Summer of Love and being captivated by the what 'mod' music dribbled into our lives in the tiny backwoods northern town we lived in then. What I wouldn't have given then to have been 18 and in San Franscisco! Anyhow, I let them tune in to what's out there, it's the music of their time, although I loudly bemoan the lack of female rockers. I'm pleased to say it's my kids who turned me on to Blue October - and I think they've developed some pretty good taste. This is a quieter number from Blue October, give it a try!

  1. five-four says Not bad of a song. I like when they step on the distortion pedal. I'm not too fond of how they constructed the 2nd chord, but they did a great job overall.

  2. Naomi17 says My only criticism of their music in general is a tendency towards repetition in the chorus, but then what-do-I-know, it is called a chorus after all! I like the distortion, too.

  3. deadflowers says This is one of my favorite songs on the Foiled record. Heard it live for the first time last weekend and it was just as good as I had hoped.

  4. Naomi17 says Some artists do better in the studio than live and some can manage both, seems like. Must have been a great concert!
