WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

SUTC - Little Wing

Posted 21 days ago

oh, how I wish I could literally spend a Sunday under the covers - but my menial, low-paid job as a laundress awaits; I swear, my kids & I should change our surnames to "Bucket"! About Little Wing - I'm not musically knowledgable but to my untrained ear, Johnette's version doesn't dis Jimi's a bit, and I like that thing The Blonde does with guitars. Here we go:

A very solid performance! and, as someone once said "Doing laundry in heaven beats lounging in Hell"

Not bad at all.  When I first heard Hendrix's original back in the Archaic Era, the chord changes sounded unprecendented, awkward, uncomfortable, and brash.  No way would today's record stores put his CD's in the oldies section.

A very nice version Naomi.  someone once said (just a few minutes ago, in fact.)

"Doing laundry in heaven beats lounging in Hell"

....and implied he was quoting some famous sage......I think he got that from a fortune cookie.....but there is truth in the words none-the-less.

so, some consult the oracle by "throwing the bones" (sorry dmdm) some ... toss the cookies?  that doesn't sound quite right

however, I can see that I'll have to post a photo of where I work & see what the sages say about doing laundry in Hell.  Heaven's where I lounge!

....Oh!  I really hate it when people start throwing bones,  especially when they're mine. You try retrieving fibulas.  As for cookie tossing....Please.

Yeah.  I was at a concert once & I heard someone say...."hey, let's smoke a bone!".   Now, beyond the sheer gruesome perversity.....I was shocked, apalled, and a wee bit frightened.
