WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

It's Not Easy Being Sally, Either!

Posted about 1 month ago

this one is a little too apropos considering my narrowly-avoided romance this summer - but it's still my favourite Friday night cover of the much-covered Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley. Lee Dorsey's is right up there, too, so if anyone has it, I'd love to hear it.

Never heard of either; got to get them both.  Could have done without Palmer's version's harmonica solo, but his beat was special.

You know folks, it could be worse........

    MUCH worse.

    Ringo Starr.......

Naomi, I like Robert Palmer's version, harp solo & all.  I really like Lee Dorsey's version...Its got a nice lean lithe feel.      As for Ringo?  Well,  i think he was wearing a nice shirt when he recorded this.

I hear what you mean, dmdm,  Ringo must have been having an off day when he recorded "Escorting My Grandmother Carefully Through A Well-Lit Lane" ... it needs a dash of something hot

Spike, this song was new to me, too, earlier in the summer - very pleasant to find a good Sally song.  I love Mustang Sally, but Eric Clapton's Lay Down Sally sure didn't help my high school years!

inrumford .... darn, & I already printed a screen shot for my wall of fame
