this is one of my mom's favourite songs. she doesn't know who bob marley is, but he still managed to touch her. lol
The power of music!!
Sierra: I did Laugh Out Loud when I read that: yes, it's like what people say about God to unbelievers. And I laughed because it's true, even us old moms have hot summer nights in our eyes sometimes;)
inrumford: ah, yes.
mmm-hmmm
Sorry to be a pedant, but IMHO this is the weakest version of "Stir It Up" the Wailers ever recorded, with some horrendous guitar (Wayne Perkins) and synth (John "Rabbit" Bundrick) overdubs wrecking a rather sexy song.
The best version of "Stir It Up" was the one funded by Clancy Eccles, and released on the Wail'n'Soul'M label back in 1967.
This, though, is the trtack above, minus overdubs - http://mog.com/Baudolino/blog/1233741
And for completeness, it all began back here - http://mog.com/Baudolino/blog/150167
Baudolino, a million zillion thanks for turning me on to something better (I hear what you mean) - you can ped on my mog anytime=)
Your posts are still here, by the way, so you must have done something to your profile after posting that Tom Waits track
