Born in Japan just after the 2nd World War, Mr Kondo grew up during the hard bop era of jazz and he chose the trumpet as his instrument of expression and free jazz as the vehicle. Often experimenting with an electrified horn and effects processing (and clearly influenced by Miles Davis), this collaboration with the excellent DJ Krush yeilded a highly enjoyable album, "Ki-Oku".
