YOU CAN'T NOT GET NO SATISFACTION

McLaughlin Mondays #4

Posted over 2 years ago
Just squeaking in under the wire this week with my regular Monday post! Only arrived back at SFO this afternoon after a lovely week back in the "motherland" (UK in my case).Something more recent, recorded in 1998 live in Paris, this is an electric lineup featuring the amazing Dennis Chambers on drums and Gary Thomas on sax. I really like this particular track which showcases McLaughlin's virtuosity nicely and this live set is altogether more fun IMO than the studio album that preceded it.

  1. Bartleby says This must be the second time I hit play on the MOG-player. Gary Thomas's sax is sensational. As for McLaughlin's plucking, it's quite simply suave. Paris seems to be an inspiring city for live recordings. Thanks for this Monday offering on a Tuesday.

  2. MusikMagik says Thanks once again for listening in Bartleby. You're proving to be a great subscriber to this series :-) Now, for the record, I fought jet lag to make sure this got posted on Monday, albeit west coast time! I wonder why, if Mog is based in Berkeley CA, their clock is on GMT? Perhaps this is where their hosted server company is based? Happy Wednesday to you (even though it's still Tuesday here). MM
