MOGger Roll Call (And A Request)
If you're still out there, say hi!
Also, if you are a member of the Mogger and Orphan's community site and you want to stay a member, please add "yes".
We don't know what MOG has planned for this part of the site, but I'm doing some membership cleanup and revamping the site over there and I need to know who's still interested in utilizing the site, if or when the time comes that we need a new home.
The site has been transformed into a destination for music listening and discovery. It's now a music portal like none you've ever seen on the web. (You don't have to be a member to use most of the music portal.)
You want free streaming music all in one place? You want an easy way to check out new releases each week? Well now some of the the best sites for commercial free listening, new artist discovery and new release exploration are embeded right in the community site. There are even 2 sources for finding great music via YouTube and 2 sources for finding blogs and blogged music, by mood or genres.
All these sites are embeded in windows that are sized to focus on the music and not all the ads and other stuff happening on the right side of their page. It's all still there, but it's not an immediate distraction while you are listening or exploring. You can scroll to see it if you want to.
And that's just the beginning. If you are logged into or you log into MOG, Rdio or Blip.fm when you go to the site, you can use those services directly from within the site (With Blip.fm, you can listen even without being logged in).
And for MOG, I've included both old and new players and I have cut out most of the spam posts on the home page and just left the meaty portions of MOGger posts as well as MMN posts that have embeded content (yet another way to keep current with what's happening in the blog-o-sphere). You can change the filter to whatever you like, once you are there, but that is the default, because I don't care to scroll through all that spam and advertising.
Because all the music sites are embeded in the actual community site, as a member, while you are listening at any one of them, you can also chat with other members logged in (or just say Hi!) in real time, as you keep an eye on any other site activity happening on the right side of the page.
If someone does start to use the site for blogging, you'll see new posts in the "Recent Stuff" section. (If you do blog from the site, be sure to create a post at MOG and drop a link in it for those not using the community site as a portal.)
Please click around and let me know what you think of the new portal. Click on the main menu links- then check out the sub-links for more goodness than you can handle. And... if you have a favorite site you'd like to have included for your one stop music destination, just let me know. If the site will embed, I'll add it for you. (some sites like last.fm and Pandora don't allow embedding).
Have fun there!

Dropping by to say hello! Hope everyone is doing well. I've been very overwhelmed with work. All my best to you!
Kori
Yes
Hi & of course yes.
I can't really give Mog Orphans a good test until next week, coz I have to be working on the railroad for the next 5 days. =8-<
Could you add www.directcurrentmusic.com to the site. I use that a lot & others might enjoy it. Check it out first. Plus if you have exfm it picks up songs there, 56 songs, when I just went in there a minute ago.
hi! and yes.
oui
That looks like a good new releases site, Dash. I'll add it.
Dash, Looks like Ex.fm doesn't work on embeded pages- I have the same issue when visiting MMN sites under that MOG bar at the top. It sees the pages as embeded and can't read the mp3s, because they are not on the main page.
I added the page for listening purposes, but to grab the mp3s, for Ex.fm, you'll have to click to open it in a new window or tab.
I'm so Yes.
I'll continue stocking it with great listening sites, but feed me yours, if I miss them.
Test
Ok, that out of the way. I was panicing because every time I hit "publish" I would exit from the page. WOuldn't want to be "cleaned up."
You know I'm a Yes man in many ways, and this is no exception.
Oh, and "hi."
Great to see you again Kori.
Yes. Even though I don't get here or there as often I would like. I sure miss the old postings. Wednesday just isn't the same without the wayback machine.
i'll definitely stay in the family.
yes, hello!
Si, da, oui to both MOG and MOG Orphans. If the housecleaning results in reduced spam, well done. It's good to hear from various degenerate music heads.
I've tried to rid it of as much as possible, so it's enjoyable to scroll through all the posts, check out the embeded media and not have to see all the spam, Bob.
Hope you enjoy the portal. If there any good sites you frequent and want added, just let me know.
Rex...I hope it goes without saying.....
Yep...
Hello and yes!
Thanks for the responses folks.
Good to know we'll have a few solid members to build a new foundation for some community on the side.
But for the most part, it's going to be a music portal where people can blog if they want to, or when the time comes they feel they need to.
Next up in the development of the site, a blogroll, based on the community's favorite blogs. So feed me links to your favorite blogs.
When done, it will be the best place for enjoying MOG as well as other community curated content of the music sites we love and frequent the most.
I'm certainly going to take advantage of it, even if no one else does.
Hi and mais certainmeant.
Hi and YES.....thanks for all the effort you put into this, Rex! We appreciate it!
....and what about Last.fm possibly?
Last.fm, YouTube and Pandora don't allow embedding into the site, so those you'll have to go to outside the site. However, I can add links for those sites on the page where I put the blogroll links, so it's easy to get to them.
ok, cool, I was wondering.....
yes indeed and hello
Count me in. Thanks for the effort!
