WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

A Beatlesque Treat - Lolas

Posted about 1 year ago

This track is kind of a cross between The Beatles, The Byrds and Tom Petty. I think that's probably one of the best Jangle pop combinations you can get. This song has nice harmonies and a driving "Rain"/ "I Should Have Known Better" type beat, with very Beatlesque drums and bass line during the verses. You'll get the idea after a few opening bars.

In the comments, I'll post another great tune in a different style that reminds me of a group called The Records.

Here's another track off this CD, named after a famous actress- Barbara Stanwyck.
