A Super Group Of Sorts, For The Roots Country Rock Audience - AL & THE TRANSAMERICANS

Posted about 2 years ago

If you like the music of The Band, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Pure Prairie League and that sort of roots country rock, this group may appeal to you. The band features members who have day jobs in other bands, but get together when tour schedules permit.

Founder Al Schneir is a guitarist for the popular jam-rock outfit moe., while other members of the Transamericans hail from Strangefolk, Okemah or the Gordon Stone Trio.

Don't be fooled by any grey arrows, MOG has this album for listening in the U.S, you just have to search TRANSAMERICANS to find it and play it.

I'm finding that MOG has lot's more than we think. Just because they don't have an album page for some CDs, doesn't always mean the album is not in all access. If you are a good detective, you may find new releases, prior to release, like funoka just did and I did too, with a Rob Zombie upcoming release. Use that search box to find MOG hidden treats!

I loaded the iPod with 5 songs from this excellent CD.

.....I gotta say...I approached this with a fair amount of trepidation.  I'm not a big fan of jambands beyond Phish. But these have a pleasing cohesion. They are songs, not excursions, you know?  And they sound born to it.

You're rarely, if ever, going to get any noodling from me. Glad you listened.
