Enjoyable Pet Sounds

This is wonderful Beach Boys music. As one reviewer put it, it's like "a brand new Beach Boys album from an alternate reality". If you were, or are a fan of the Boys, you will love this CD. There are only a few tracks on it (including the title track) that don't sound like they came straight off a vintage Beach Boys album, such as Pet Sounds. This band is to The Beach Boys like L.E.O was (is?) to E.L.O.
I really doubt you will be able to resist repeat listens, if just to catch all the cool instrumental touches. If you'd like to hear the whole CD, just head here.

Bud Scoppa from HITS magazine turned me onto this disk last year. Loved it and forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder!
Great post RX. Truly is like hearing new Beach Boys tunes.
nice, very nice
When the verse in "Forever" went into certain chord changes, I imagined Brian Wilson wishing he had written it. I guess the Beach Boys sound was rich and deep enough to allow a band like this to work within it, especially as deftly as the Explorers Club does. Every once in a while, revivalists triumph.
Very nice. I imagined from the sound and the album cover that this was an old group, but it appears that this is a current work? They've got those BB harmonies down pat.
I'm not a Beach Boy, but I play one on TV... This is amazing stuff. Unfortunately, they chose to replicate Mike Love's nasal vocals on Last Kiss. True to the form, but not necessary.
