Looks like there may be some unannounced performances on the webcast. Who knows what you'll see. :)
New Orleans Jazz Festival
Joe Cocker
Somehow, those two are the last pairing that comes to my mind
What small portion that has been webcast has been mostly rock and cajun and no Jazz, so far. But it hasn't been a bad mix.
This is a true public service, and greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
Breakin' my heart that I couldn't be there. Ah well. Next year!
Wish I could go to this.
The N.O. Jazzfest is never a disappointment......I've seen some great acts there. The first part of this year's was actually last week, but I couldn't make it this year--my friend/coworker went to last week's, where she saw Wilco and James Taylor, among others. I know some of you are James Taylor haters, but whatever. Neil Young played last weeken, too. I've seen Robert Cray there, Randy Newman....the point is, Jazzfest is the given name, but it has much more than jazz
I agree, jaggs, it really does span a spectrum of musical styles now. Now a days, it's just a name because New Orleans is mostly known as a jazz mecca. I'm sure there's a good amount of jazz, but not so much on the webcasts.
With all those artists earlier in the week, New Orleans does know how to put on a party!
You said it! :)
Also, I just looked at what I had said in that comment, and I want to clarify that I don't dislike jazz--- some of it I like a lot....I was just "echoing" the fact that jazzfest has ALL kinds of music---and I agree, RX, the name mostly comes from the fact that it takes place in a city historically known for jazz.
Yep, me too. Not the biggest jazz fan, although I don't dislike it- just don't listen to it a lot or as much as other forms of music.
