So last night was just one of those nights when everyone & everything around me was part of a conspiracy to keep me awake. With an elephant stomping flatmate across the hall from me pounding up and down the hallway at 3:30 in the a.m. to some drunk idiot yelling at someone at 5. I almost wanted him to start yelling, "Stella!" just so at least it'd be funny instead of downright annoying. Anyways, it got to the point that I just put on Zero 7's album Simple Things and sort... So here's the story. SOmehow in decmeber i hear dof the new show From the Basement that was created by the legendary produce of Radiohead and others, Nigel Goodrich. I looked at the list of artists and realized i hadn't heard of half of them (mostly european) but the half I DID recognize were amongst my favorite artists ever. As it happens I'v epretty much fallen in love with all the artists I hadn't heard before.Unfortunately, I was only able to discover a few be... MORE
I have a strange fascination for mandalas and soft voices.
This is Jose Gonzales remixed by Zero 7 . A beautiful song and a beautiful video. Hopefully the bright colors and nice sounds will make each one of warm at least on the inside.
Tina has her own career, but did a brilliant tour with Zero 7 a few years ago after they recorded the "When It Falls" album. She does solo versions of "Home" now, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, that are very affecting. There are several on YouTube. She is one of Denmark's famous musicians (she goes by her given name, Tina Dickow, there), and seems very in charge of her own career. Her web site, (http://www.tinadico.com) is one of the best artist self-promotio... MORE

I used to wet the bed. My pea-sized bladder was so full I'd awaken and quickly throw off the covers and clamber quickly out of bed. I'd feel the thick threads of the rug on my bare feet, and the little shock of static as I opened my bedroom door. In the moonlight, I'd pull up the porcelain toilet seat (cool on my fingers), and pee, the stream hitting the water loudly in the dead-silent house, parents and brother asleep in rooms down the hall. Finished, I'd start to fall as... MORE
This song is becoming a drug... Don't you love it?! Great band, but I can't find any of their CDs here... :(
This is exactly the kind of song I can't stop listening. Usually, I don't listen that much to Zero 7 (I easily prefer Morcheeba, hehe) but I must admit that this song is really fascinating. This kind of lazy ejazz is really cool. I really wonder why they're not as genious as on this track on the rest of their albums.
WELL. Just get stoned and listen to this.
