Wyclef Jean has added his name to the growing list of people claiming Michael Jackson owes them money. First it was the Prince of Bahrain asking for $7 million, then Neverland Ranch faced foreclosure, then it was Jackson's stake in ATV publishing, somethings gotta give. During an interview, Wyclef was asked if he was jealous that Akon and Will.I.Am have worked with Michael on his new album, 'Clef had this to say...
"I was in the studio with Mike. Michael... MORE

Wyclef Jean has a new video that came out over the weekend. The song is "Fast Car" featuring Paul Simon, off of Jean's new album Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant... I like this song and this video. It's a nice Paul Simon ditty and the images add a whole other layer to the messages in the words...... MORE

Wyclef Jean of the Fugees will appear on the December 4th edition of SoulStage. SoulStage's description reads exactly like VH1 's Storytellers, which makes you ask exactly why they have two separate names. The 30 minute special will feature Wyclef performing songs from his upcoming album in an intimate setting, as well as sharing inspirations behind the music. The Carnival Volume II (Memoirs of an Immigrant) will be released tomorrow and features collabs from Akon, Lil' Wayn... MORE

Wyclef Jean is also about to drop a new album on the hip hop massives, so I've rounded up some audio for anyone who wants to preview it. Wyclef Jean’s Carnival II: Memoirs Of An Immigrant is being described as "Hollywood meets Bollywood" because of the eastern influences in the music, but the vocals are more influenced by the Caribbean. Maybe "West Indies meets East Indies" would be more accurate. Wyclef Jean is joined on different songs by Akon, Sizzla, and Uncle Murda.... MORE

Wyclef Jean's version of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. What can I say?
In many ways I prefer this to Pink Floyd's.
Let the debate...... Yeah, I misspelled the cd title!
Its called The Ecleftic.....

It's been a decade since Wyclef Jean released his debut album Wyclef Jean Presents the Carnival Featuring the Refugee All-Stars. The album, which included a re-invented version of the Bee Gee's "Staying Alive," also featured guests like his Fugees bandmates Lauryn Hill and Pras, Jean's siblings Melky Sedeck, the I Threes, the Neville Brothers and the late Celia Cruz.
Now Clef, despite a fallout with Hill, will release the second installment of The Carnival, The Ca... MORE

Man, what it must be like to work at RWD Magazine! Today they published yet another stellar and probing interview with one of music's veteran stars. Last week, they published an excellent interview everyday. Perhaps this week will see more of the same? Today, you can read the new interview with Wyclef Jean, where he speaks about his new album Carnival 2: Memoirs of an Immigrant, working with Shakira and how anyone can get involved with Yele Haiti, his charity foundation... When Wyclef hooked up with T.I. to work on a few songs for TIP 's upcoming album early this year, it also sparked the beginning of 'Clef's own LP. The Carnival 2 began to take form from those sessions, and the final product is scheduled to hit stores very soon. Now that the chances of a Fugee's reunion are thoroughly dead, and Pras seems more interested in movies, this album will be the closet fans get to what they want.
The first single is titled "Sweetest Girl (Dollar... MORE

...When you walk out your front door, man, anything can happen...so before I headed over to my favorite cafe/ hotspot to do a little writing today, I went to the local Tobac (cigarette store) to scoop me some smokes and the lady behind the counter, who I've been coming to for months...who I'd helped with her store's web site...told me that she thought the 10 dollar bill I handed her to pay for my Parliaments was counterfeit...not a real big deal but I thought she was one of ... ...The Carnival was another find I uncovered at the library and I think it was wayyy ahead of its time; a highly under-rated album in some circles when it came out...it was the first solo effort of the newly ex-Fugee, Wyclef Jean and it dropped back when I worked at the record company that released it back in NYC ...he was there all the time and the look he had on his face wasn't necessarily worry but it definitely appeared to be trepidation on how his new stuff was going t... Yesterday Wyclef Jean appeared before the House Of Representatives to bring change to his native country of haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and for years 'Clef has been trying to make a difference to improve his homeland. Wyclefs own foundation is forming a partnership with a U.S development program to improve Haitis economy.

I take the subway a lot. I even saw Meryl Streep on the subway once. I just saw the video for Someone Call 911 by Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige. I want someone to sing like that in my subway car, but i don't want it to be because they need someone to call emergency services. Wyclef has such a wonderful voice, and I don't know much about his music other than this song, and 2 Wrongs Don't Make It Right ( I know he was with Fuguees, i just never really listened to the... So last year when I got a new mobile phone, my younger sister kept ragging on me for leaving the pre-selected ring instead of downloading a real music one. What can I say? The only thing I would probably really want to pay $2.50 for would be the theme from _Curb Your Enthusiasm_. She kept on it for a couple of weeks when I told her, "Fine, _you_ pick one and set it up."
Now I am not the only jokester in the Hegemon family. She downloaded one and gave the phone back t... MORE
