Weezer is a Grammy-nominated rock band from Los Angeles, California. They have released five full-length albums, three EPs, and a DVD; the first album was later re-released as a remastered deluxe edition. Their most recent album, Make Believe, was released on May 10, 2005. They have sold over 10 million records to date in the US.

Weezer fans will be able to enjoy the band's new and third self-titled effort sooner than expected. Perhaps worried that the album would leak, Weezer's label Interscope has pushed up the release date from June 24th to June 3rd.
That leaves only a couple weeks before the world is accosted by frontman Rivers Cuomo's handlebar mustache. Yikes!

As goofy as it looks, and as much as people on the internet questioned its validity, "The Red Album" cover from Weezer is 100% real.
"Yes, that's absolutely the cover," Jim Merlis, the band's publicist, told MTV News. "It's what they chose. They looked at a bunch of mockups, and that's the one they decided to go with. It's not a joke."

By now most people have heard that Weezer's sixth album will be the band's third self-titled effort in it's history. Like the previous self-titled albums, which have taken to the color scheme (i.e. The Blue Album, The Green Album), this one will definitely be referred to as The Red Album, according to the band.

Weezer has been pulling everyone’s leg with this new album, the band's sixth, they’ve got coming out. First there was the Sixth Album Web site, which started a media frenzy, suggesting the new album would be called everything from Tout Ensemble to the Web site's uncreative namesake. It was all B.S.

Early this week, the trailer for the upcoming GT5 game for the PS3 revealed an advanced teaser of a new Weezer track. Drummer Pat Wilson confirmed that the song will appear on the GT5 soundtrack and the anticipated; yet still untitled Weezer album. I recently discovered that Rivers Cuomo released an album or something like it called Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo, sound good its along the lines of a good old classic rock & roll album meets a dynamic country twist. I really like the thought of a solo album from the prince of rock in all its glory. as soon as i get a check then I'll definetly pick it up. Oh, I suppose the music I listen to while doing chores is still under construction seeing as I got my first MP3 player for Christmas. My daddy got me "the last Zune in Western New York. Had to get up at 4:30 in the morning to work my magic. Got it for less than half the asking price." Whether a fish tale or not... my dad's the fucking shit. While Rivers Cuomo released "Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo" this week, the rest of Weezer are also busy on some solo projects.
The band's rhythm guitarist Brian Bell is back at work with his other band, The Relationship. New members have been added and the band is recording new material.
