Here’s another tale from my musical history. A few years after Mike Smith & DK came into my life. This one also involves a lovely lad, one quite sweet on me… & though our relationship(s) were short-lived … one was less than 24 hours… oh yes kiddies; they meant the world to me, as did Brando. He was the first boy I ever "went out with" ;) But I thought he was kidding – trying to save me from another boy that I didn’t like who wanted to "go out with" me. We were ... MORE
From the Freak Magnet liner notes: "I Danced", lyrics from the poem "I Danced Before I Had Two Feet," by Max Dunn, music by Gordon Gano.
And when I, Naomi, heard it - I got up on the sturdy peasant feet I grew for this lifetime, and I danced, too!
I might have gotten the album tag wrong on this one, but all my vfs are loaded in the car CD player, the cases are there and I didn't label my ITunes. And I'm too grumpy to bother anyway. There are only 2 femmes songs I detest; I'm a mother first and foremost so if you know their music, you can probably guess it's Gimme The Car and Country Death Song that cross my boundaries. I´m missing MOG bigtime and just had to check in. One more day of vacation in Puerto Vallarta and we´¨re heading home. Every walk down the malecon is filled with musica. We keep hearing Sean Paul´s Temperature blasting from cars and the Nokia truck.
Anna, there was a Greek DJ at my father´s birthday party last night. He´s from Athens and spends five months here in mexico. Cosmo was his name, how appropriate ;-)
Hasta luego.

Saw the Violent Femmes in Tempe tonight. What an amazing, awesome, incredible show. And to think i almost missed it. I didn't even know they were playing, but happened to see an ad for the concert right before I left work. I was really looking forward to going home, eating some dinner and getting back to mastering Guitar Hero on the Playstation, but I convinced myself that I would never forgive myself if I never saw the Femmes live. Off I went, straight from work. What can ... MORE
