I saw all these wars going on so I thought I'd start one of my own! KA-BOOOOOOM! I hope other people will join in too. The 60s Garage Rock aka Psychadelic Era is one of my most favorite periods of pop music. The bands had such a wild, raw and timeless quality. They were really the second wave of true punk rock after the 50s rockabilly movement. Here's my first pick: The Seeds singin' that down n' dirty protest anthem from 1966: "Pushin Too Hard".

I've been wicked busy lately, so sorry for the gap between #s 10 and 11. The Seeds are probably best known for their 1966 hit "Pushin' Too Hard," which is a terrific garage-psych single and deservedly ends up on compilations pretty regularly. That track was on their eponymous debut album, which was quickly followed by the considerably better "A Web of Sound." Those two albums have seemingly always been available on a single cd, albeit with one track from the first album ... MORE
