Hey guys, who better to ask than other Plan fans. I cant' find their first album "Can We Be Mature?" I had it a long time ago and I sorta misplaced it. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could reacquire it. I looked all over the internet, but I haven't had any luck. Any help would be awesome.
A friend of mine had a spare ticket and I just got back! It was great! I bought a copy of The Dismemberment Plan Is Terrified at the show! I'll let you know how it was as soon as I get a chance, which may not be for a while, I'm pretty busy for the next week or so.
I don't know much about Washington, DC's The Dismemberment Plan, other than they're a punk group frequently regarded as a hipster favorite. Judging by this track from their 1995 debut !, it's easy to see why. This song is simply glorious. It begins with an ascending octave chord hook against an odd, angular rhythm that, inexplicably, clips along with the immediacy of a more straightforward punk beat. Over this, vocalist Travis Morrison sings in a rapid fire, oddly tune... MORE
Ooh, two Dismemberment Plan posts in a row! For anyone who never caught a live show when they were still together (ME!), the near-missed opportunity of a lifetime was announced today [Stereogum, Pitchfork]: The Dismemberment Plan are reuniting for one night only as part of a benefit for Callum Robbins, the infant son of Jawbox's J. Here's another one for you lovelies. Let me know what you think too. Which means you gotta LISTEN TO IT! Thanks loves. Promise I'm almost back on this scene. Too exhausted from jobs. First free weekend coming up!

I'm still M.I.A. on here because I'm a two job hustla. I want it to end... right now. And it will... soon. But meanwhile, there's one particular band that's been keeping me going. My love for The Plan has never been stronger. Why oh why was I so friggen young when they were together? I cry myself to sleep at night knowing I might never see them live. If you haven't heard them WHAT THE EFF ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!? You too can enjoy The Plan after their demise. Oh m... MORE
this band is one of my all time favorites, which is probably why they broke up. This is definitely their opus. Their other albums are great too. witty lyrics and poppy beats with random time signatures, its fun which music should. if you have seen this band live you are fucking lucky! i saw them twice, and their musicianship is amazing.
EVERYONE IS DOING THE STANDING STILL!
