So here's to a slightly better day today (the meds must be kicking in more optimally or something...just kidding, or am I?). ;-) Anxiety and depression are giving way to playfulness fringed with a touch of brilliant lunacy; what better way to celebrate than with our crazy buddy (rest his soul) Syd Barrett?
Foundinng Pink Floyd member Syd Barrett will have a handwritten love poem auctioned off almoat a year after his death this month. Cambridge's Cheffins Auction Rooms will be auctioning off the poem, dated back to 1965, between June 28th and 29th. The poem was drafted before Barrett's time with Pink Floyd. Barret wrote it for his then girlfriend, nicknamed Twig. It includes an illustration of her dancing and waving her arms in the air to a band playing in the background. The... MORE
Official documents this week revealed that Syd Barrett, one of the pioneering members of Pink Floyd, left three million to his family. Barrett died last July at the age of 60 after living with diabetes for years. Many thought he was in the poor house since he had been living a reclusive lifestyle at his mother’s home in Cambridge, England for 30 years prior to his death.
