    Blog post image preview There's been quite a bit of hubbub about the 40th Birthday of Sgt. Pepper, and rightly so, (Aimee Mann/MOG/MY 2 cents) it is a classic. Alongside The Beatles, Motown had a great year in '67, too. In fact, the song I post here from '67, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Love I Saw In You Was Just A Mirage is one of my all-time favorite songs in the Motown canon.     This is one sublime cover. Although it was a top 40 hit on its own, it seems to be mostly forgotten nowadays, and the only place I've come across it is on the fourth disc of a Miracles boxed set. I think Marvin Gaye did a version of this song that charted in the U.K., but I've never heard it. Another issue that arises with this song, other than the obvious problem we have vis a vis the assassination of awesome leaders, is one of punctuation. At my current place of employ... MORE
