Taken from the In The Flesh cd recorded at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, OR
A different take w/o Gilmour's guitar and vocals, but I think it works nicely.
Doyle Bramhall II does a more than competent job on guitars

Prince may have gotten $4.8 million to play Coachella, but poor Roger Waters left the festival without his signature inflatable concert pig. During the former Pink Floyd frontman’s set on Sunday April 27th, the pig broke from its strings and drifted over the crowd and out into the night, making the saying “when pigs fly” actually valid for once.
For those unfamiliar with Waters’ set, the forty-foot, helium-filled balloon in the shape of a pig was conceptualized for Pink ... MORE

"Perhaps the most arrogant figure in rock music, but also one of the most brilliant" begins the Rhapsody Roger Waters bio. It goes on to tell us that he was a founding member of Pink Floyd, taking over the helm of tha band "after Syd Barrett stumbled into perpetual psychedelic oblivion in 1968." He went on to lead the group into "FM radio immortality with the Psychedelic masterpieces Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall." All good to know since I knew none of it, though the ar... MORE

allenblake... of Frankenstein's AlibiWell, the nostalgic fascination of 60s and 70s cultural ideals and creative frontiers stayed firm throughout my last years of high school, though, as I saw it, the unfounded optimism didn't sit right with me, personally, and there was a general shift away from nostalgia at the outset of my departure from high school to the collegiate experience, and this showed in my expanding horizons of both cultural and musical outlooks on life and the conception of art. By the time I... MORE

Being a Floyd fanatic, I am of course a big fan of Roger Waters as well. I have his three solo records just because. Now Waters may be a genious, but his solo work is certainly not his best (just go listen to Radio KAOS ). I do think there are moments where he hits his spots, though, and this song is one of them. I actually found some old video clip from something for it, too. By the way, try to guess who the guest guitarist is...... MORE

Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters will return to North America this spring to offer another round of complete performances of the classic Pink Floyd album "Dark Side of the Moon." Waters, long estranged from the British space-rock band, performed roughly the same show last year during an 18-city tour. This time around, Waters and his band will hit 24 venues throughout the continent, kicking off May 18 in West Palm Beach, FL. Details are included below. According to... MORE

I am somewhat amazed that those of us in the music community don't not vociferously promote Water's opus about the first Gulf War while the current tragedy in Iraq is being perpetrated. I am unaware of even a single source that alludes to the very cogent material strewn through this work. As an anti-war statement I can't think of any other full length musical piece that is comparable. It's hard to believe that a song such as this was not at the forefront of the protest mo... MORE
