Ahhh I was right. Despite not considering myself snobbish as soon as Regina Spektor's 'Fidelity' started being used on an ad my liking of it dropped considerably. Because of this ad the previously unknown(in New Zealand)Spektor rose to the top of the charts and now I can't listen to it any more. I have no problem with popularism but maybe my subconsious does.

'Fidelity' has been partially ruined for me. It was used on a ad and now if I ever play it to anyone they'll think that my music tastes are derived from marketing executives.

Like I said, I'm extremes (all or nothing). I've fallen head over heels for Regina. I first heard it on World Cafe (yes, laugh at me, I listen to NPR, but it's good shit) but wrote her name on a napkin as I was driving and being the clean freak I am, threw out her napkin. The album is a great mixture of true good vocals (think Kate Earl) and great semi electric indie sound (think Feist and Broken Social Scene). She's gotten some press and reviews for "Fidelity" around... MORE
