As I'm sure most people that love them have heard, Rainer Maria will be parting ways at the end of this year. I'm lucky enough to have a boyfriend that loves me enough to have bought us tickets for the Philly show at the First Unitarian Church the day they went on sale. Rainer Maria has been one of my favorite bands since the first time I heard them. I love everything about them (except when Kyle sings. Sorry.) Rainer Maria are no more. I am sad...they made a lot of really good music. The world was better off for having known them.

In case you haven't heard, and are interested: The end of 2006 will also bring the end of Rainer Maria, as the long-running band announced today that they will call it quits after two final shows, taking place December 15 and December 16 at Philadelphia's First Unitarian Church and New York City's Bowery Ballroom.
