It's been six years since he was initially arrested on child pornography charges, but R. Kelly's trial is finally underway. Kelly's legal team filed for a delay after a shocking news leak last weekend, but Judge Vincent Gaughan struck it down. An unknown Atlanta woman claims she had a threesome with R. Kelly and the under aged girl in question, according to the Chicago Sun Times. When that info leaked out, Kelly's lawyers had to scramble a little for damage control.

It was too good to be true! R. Kelly's trial is set to begin on Friday, May 9th... a full six years after his initial arrest. However, if his latest request is granted, who knows when it will actually start.
The latest request for a delay comes after a mystery woman came forward this weekend claiming she had a threesome with Kelly and the under aged girl. "We ask to continue the case," Kelly's lawyer Ed Genson said, "because of the torrent of publicity over the weekend."... MORE

So this is the video that spawned R. Kelly's now infamous "Goldilocks" picture. Hairbraider is the first single off of his upcoming album "12 Play: The 4th Quarter". The album doesn't have a release date but if a single is out now it may be on shelves before the end of the summer.

Prosecutors are seeking permission to use past crimes as evidence in his child molestation trial. Among them is his 1995 marriage to pop star Aaliyah, who was 15 when she and R. Kelly wed. Both camps denied the marriage ever took place, but Vibe magazine dug up a copy of their marriage license (which falsely said Aaliyah was 18).

Early yesterday, a new track from R. Kelly titled "I'm A Beast" hit the interwebs. The song is a half rapping, half singing hybrid in the vein of Real Talk. The song is very angry, and Kelly takes aim at unknown people who are jealous and try to bring him down. Many speculate that this song is intended for Ne-Yo, who is currently suing R. kelly for kicking him off tour late last year.

We've heard from the girl's mother Regina, we've heard from R. Kelly yesterday, now the 21 year old Maxine Daniels is speaking publicly for the first time. Maxine's sexual relationship with Kelly caused her mother Regina to resign from her position has Kelly's publicist late last year. In December, R. Kelly missed a court date in Chicago due to a hold up on his tour in Colorado. A mix up with his tour bus paper work caused the issues, and the judge in his child pornography case was less than thrilled. Kelly eventually made it to court the very next day, but missed a concert date in the meantime.

During yet another pre trail hearing, Judge Vincent Gaughan denied testimony from Dr. Sharon Cooper, a pediatrician who the prosecution wanted on the stand. An R. Kelly fan pleaded guilty to contempt of court and spent this weekend in jail after being busted snapping photos with her cell phone. Jean Johnson, 49, calls herself "R. Kelly's biggest fan" and couldn't resist when she found herself sitting just paces away.
