Oscar Emilio León Simoza, better known as Oscar D'León (b. July 111943) is a Venezuelan musician who became internationally famous for his salsa music. In Spanish, he is known as El Sonero del Mundo ("the Son Singer of the World") or as El Sonero Mayor ("the Great Son Singer"). His most famous song is perhaps "Llorarás," which he recorded in 1975 with his group La Dimensión Latina.

2I helped found a community run non-commercial radio station, KZUM , in the late 70's. My friend Carlos Siso always played Oscar D'Leon's music on his Sunday afternoon program there. Carlos was Venezuelan and couldn't get a radio license from the FCC so I was his engineer.
