And it is awesome !!
Anyone else jamming this yet?
I'll post a track or two later :] gotta listen first :]
Heheh, I can't keep sitting on this, without sharing some more. This song starts off sort of reminding me of Wild Mood Swings era The Cure as far as the music goes, but of course in a very Kevin Barnes sort of way. Then it morphs into something else... I don't know what heheh. And the lyrics are hilarhious and sweet: "do you remember our summer as independents? i was a foreigner when you appeared from the shadows at the ?motor? club... i was a hater in the depths of an e... kevin barnes is complicated, and listening to any of montreal record is an excercise in keeping one’s sanity close to the chest. i dont mean to imply that listening to of montreal will make you go crazy, but if you delve into his mildly irrational lyrics you may find yourself sinking deeper and deeper into some [...]

I have to thank Breathmint for the tip on this one. And of course the ever vigilant Micheal Goldberg has seen this coming and he posted a most excellent track. Of Montreal's Skeletal lamping is alysergic brew of skewed lyrics, strange affecting music and a "devil may care" (but we don't) attitude. From the lead-off track NonPareil of Love To the insanely glorius Id Engager, Of Montreal offer a refreshing breath of neo-psychedelic fun.

I've read so many posts on Of Montreal today, that I had to jump on the wagon. I started listening to Skeletal Lamping four days ago, but I still haven't had the time to give the album the time that it deserves. As I said many months ago , Of Montreal's last album (Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? ) was one of my top albums of 2007. I have to admit, I didn't think that the first time I heard the album. But, as I gave it the time and listen that i... MORE

Of Montreal is back with a new album called Skeletal Lamping Collection and a decent set of fall tour dates to support the effort. I love how they’re releasing the album, too:

It’s a Monday, and although I haven’t officially started my job yet {still waiting for a visa application and then a chance to move to Shanghai} I do have a distinct feeling what Monday’s are all about. They are usually meh. And when I’m feeling lethargic or down and out there is one song that consistently pulls me from the depths of any sort of despair and sets my feet to dancing. That would be this song which hails from last years Hissing Fauna, Are You Th... MORE

I am so obsessed with Of Montreal's cover of this:
which is M.I.A.'s cover of this:
which is Parvati Khan from the movie Disco Dancer.
Actually I'm obsessed with all of them. I want to listen to them all in a row, over and over. I wanted to play them all on my radio show today - instead I decided to calm down and just play the original. Next week, though, Of Montreal.
