Well my car died. as lame as that sounds it was a spectacular event which will stand out in my memory as the day my car died. I was driving home from Helena Montana just going over lookout pass when my transmission started acting up. I decided to pull into a rest area to let it cool down. Bad Idea I couldent get it back into reverse but I did push it back and aim it down the road. I then tortured it into getting into gear and tried to make it the remaining hundred or so mi... MORE
If you've not gone and gotten this album yet, it's a must. I've listened to all the tracks a bunch of times now, and as short as the album is it's well worth it (especially considering it's FREE for download on NIN's site) http://www.nin.com/ I'm going to see them in August (woot!) so obviously I'm a fan - but I know I'm not the only one. So yea, check it out!
One week ago Rep. Dennis Kucinich introduced Articles of Impeachment against the President and Vice President of the United States of America. This event, to my knowledge, was not covered by any major news organization, unless it was in the footnotes somewhere. It did, however, make the front page of Le Monde. Gore Vidal's article on Truthdig inspired the shit out of me, but it's probably a bit too late, as our fearless state representatives have now buried said motion i... MORE

Nice shiny title for a review don’t you think? The new NIN album is called ‘The Slip’ and all. Thought I’d use it before someone else does. Actually it refers not only to the album itself but also to the fact that Reznor is giving it to you in its entirety for free (in case you haven't heard), on his official site, at the quality level of your choice, with nothing required but an email address. A first for any artist of Nine Inch Nails’ stature. So has Trent Reznor slip... MORE
Much has been made of Nine Inch Nails' new album being given away for free. And I do applaud Mr. Reznor for continuing down the digital road he's on....however... The Slip just isn't very good. It sounds as though he had a bunch of B-Sides laying around and put them together. There's no inventiveness in the sounds. It all sounds like well-recorded demos. It's a particular dissapointment coming on the heels of Ghosts, which seemed a much more considered, mature work. He... MORE
I plan to review this album in detail soon, but for now I just have to say that Trent Reznor's level of productivity over the past few years and ability to stay relevant and innovative over a long career is impressive to say the least...
I know, I know—this review is starting off on the wrong track. I’m he... MORE
Trent Reznor would like you to know that "This one's on me." No, he isn't buying you a round of Cinco De Mayo margaritas (bummer), instead the Nine Inch Nails frontman is giving away the band's new album The Slip for free. So, now you'll have more money for gas. The Slip is available right now as a free download at NIN.com. The band is looking to release a physical CD and vinyl in July. The queer thing about the press release was the line that read:"The Slip" marks the fir... MORE
