Thought it might be interesting, just for a change, to post not a later version of a song we already know, but the little-known original recording of a song better known from a subsequent incarnation. Bonnie Raitt made this song famous, but let's tip our collective cap to the man who wrote it and provides what is still, for me, the definitive version. Hello There, Universe by Mose Allison is a great soundtrack for those times in your life when you're wondering what you're doing wrong. Oddly enough it also speaks to me when I'm looking back in a grateful but glad-i-don't-have-to-do-that-again kind of way at all the crap I had to go through to get where I am.
All this with Mose's clever style and fully tensioned harmonies.
