I can't help it. I've always been a Crowded House
fan even tho that may make me somewhat of a sap in the eyes of some. So, I was very happy to hear CH offspring, Liam Finn's new tune. It's been described as melancholy
so of course I loved it.

you find yourself listening to records by the OFFSPRING of some of the bands you grew up listening to. Like Liam Finn...who obviously sounds a LOT like his dad, Neil...but at 23 he definitely has already carved out his own sound. Now Crowded House were a little before my formative years, but I just saw them for the first time ever at Coachella this past April...so this hit me hard :-) This is a live recording, quality isn't the best...but it gives you an idea of the go... It is a joke amongst my friends, this affinity-bordering-on-pathetic-obsession I have for/with Neil and Tim Finn. While my appreciation for wee Liam Finn (Neil's boy) is unlikely to reach the same mythic proportions, I am finding it impossible to get this song out of my head. It's strange and familiar and dorky and sophisiticated all at once. I love it. I'm really looking forward to the availability of Liam's solo album here in the States.
