Over 1900 Polish guitarists gathered at the Wroclaw market square in southern Poland to play "Hey Joe", a Jimi Hendrix classic, during the sixth annual "Thanks Jimi Festival". Event organizer guitarist and music teacher Leszek Cichowski says the festival ‘was just an idea ten years ago during a small music workshop in the town of Zakiew in southwestern Poland where 16 guitar players performed together: ‘Last year we had in the market square in Wroclaw 1881 guitar player... Warning: Some of this might not be safe at work
Nope, it's not a fake. The enterprising entity www.hendrixsextape.com announced today(April 29):
A DVD edition scheduled to hit stores across the country on May 6. Shot in a hotel room circa 1968, the film shows Hendrix in "an erotic liaison with two slender brunettes." "This new movie shows that Jimi Hendrix could have been as great a porn star as he was a rock star. He could clearly play more than just his guitar,"

As of recently my musically inclined friends and I have had many different opinions on Jimi Hendrix's best album. For the most part the majority of people would probably say it'd be his first album "Are You Experinced"
As great of an album this is I'd have to disagree with most people. I think in this album hes establishing himself in the predominantly white rock world. Although the record is groundbreaking and widely hailed (by all us music junkies) I still bel... MORE

Well, if people are gonna put Jimi pictures on my posts, I guess I damnwell better mention some of his music. I think I got pimped to this one anyway. Isle of Wight festival, 1970. The theme continues. Peace.

This track smokes. Freakin' turn this one up. Yesterday it happened. My oldest son Alex got a phone call from a friend. It is not so much that he got the call, it's how he reacted to it. He took the phone and left the room. Brother and sister were bugging him to find out who it was. I told him to take the call in his room and I would deal with the siblings. It was his first very real personal phone call. So it begins, cause he called someone else to tell t... MORE

A group of "young people" in Darlington, UK is hoping to solve the mystery of who stole Jimi Hendrix's guitar during a gig in the '60s.
Hendrix's guitar was stolen straight after the gig at the Imperial Hotel, Darlington, on February 2, 1967, and it is thought it is still in the town.
Now a council youth service project called My Generation, which is looking at music in Darlington since the 1950s, is hoping to find out what happened to the instrument.

I would just like to thank each and every one of you for wasting SO much of my 2007, by making this the single most musically fulfilling year of my life. And since it's the last night of the year, I'd like to leave you with my favorite version of "Auld Lang Syne", as performed by Jimi Hendrix and the Band of Gypsys, New Year's Eve, December 31st, 1969, the end of a decade, the end of an era, the beginning of the Seventies, in the midst of the Vietnam war, in the aftermat... Yes it's been issued several before, on both LP and CD, and no, there's nothing new on this CD (the accompanying DVD , on the other hand, pulls together a broad array of live footage), but a chestnut's a chestnut, no matter how many times it's released. And re-release with a new marketing angle is how record labels keep the classics selling. If you have an earlier complete edition, you needn't buy this one, but if you're new to Hendrix or never bought "Live at Monterey," you... MORE
