Blog post image preview

For the second installment of Vintage B-sides/Outtake Classics is the one of the holy grail for Jeff Buckley fans. Finally released on the Legacy Edition of Grace, Forget Her is the song that was destined to be on the original release of Grace but dropped by Buckley. Why you ask? You see before Buckley had the fear that Sony would try to market him as a balladeer. Especially after The NY Times reviewed Live at Sin-e with a Michael Bolton album, he didn't want to be lu... MORE

Jeff Buckley - Grace

Artist:
Album:
Track: Lover, You Should've Come Over - (studio)
Blog post image preview This album, on its surface, didn't strike me as anything overly remarkable when I first hear it. Grace's presentation seemed too flashy and ostentatious, with a singer so in love with his own voice that he has built an hour-long sonic altar to himself. It took a 7 1/2 hour flight from Dallas to Honolulu to give me the mental patience and pliability to give Buckley's debut album an in-depth listen. It became apparent that I had misled myself terribly. Jeff Buckley is an arti... MORE

Kiss her once for the kid

Bob Dylan's words with Jeff Buckley's ridiculously beautiful voice is a potent combination that is capable of stopping you in your tracks...I know, its happened to me multiple times. Long intro on this, but once the song starts it will break your heart...in a good way...in the best way possible actually...so stay tuned.

How come I missed this?!

Artist:
Album: I Shall Be Released
Blog post image preview My friend has just posted a magnificent Jeff Buckley (RIP) recording covering Bob Dylan's, "I Shall Be Released". It was recorded over the phone with his accompaniments on the other end of the line. And as always, goosebumps... Listen here: http://teetap.multiply.com/video/item/9/Jeff_Buckley_is_just_Magical

A sparce rendition perhaps, but when you've got pipes like Jeff, sparce is good.

Here is a splendid version of the classic Dylan song done by Jeff Buckley from the "Live at Sin-e." This revitalized my interest of the song and reawakened a new way that the song could be viewed.

Despite this image, this is not a political post. Well, it is sort of. In a music snob sort of way...
So I saw this Google Headline "HUD Secretary Expected to Resign." But As you can see the picture next to it is a thumb of the Jeff Buckley album "Grace". Being ever inquisitive about such strange pairings I clicked on the picture which led me to this article from The Dallas Morning Star:This might have been more appropriate a week ago, on Easter Sunday -- you know, All... Jeff Buckley "Hallelujah" cover #2 on iTunes?

Artist:
Album:
Track:
Free music video of Hallelujah (71)
This morning I woke up and looked at my Apple homepage and saw that Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" was #2 on iTunes. I love this song, but Buckley covered it back in '94, so I wondered what had caused this iTunes phenomenon. I did some research (a.k.a. Googling) and found out that American Idol contestant, Jason Castro, sang it a couple of nights ago. The judges say they like his rendition. Even Simon, who said it's one of favorite songs, said it was "BRILLIANT!" Hm... MORE

jeff buckley's top 5 itunes single

Artist:
Album:
Track:
Free music video of Hallelujah (106)
So some dreadlocked guy sings Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" the other night on American Idol, and Randy and Simon rattle on about how they love Jeff Buckley's version, and just like that, the Buckley track jumps out of nowhere to #4 on the iTunes chart, which is the first time Jeff's music has been in any top 10 in the U.S. (I'm pretty sure). We live in an odd world. You've heard and seen Jeff sing this song a bajillion times, but it never ceases to be riveting. He used t... MORE

What do I DO on my Weekend?

(52)
Blog post image preview So, it's almost 5AM and I meditated on a comment of an attractive young lass yesterday who inquired as to what I DID on my weekends...and I...couldn't answer something concrete, and it's been bothering me, even now, at 5AM and so I decided to put on some Jeff Buckley (Sketches of Sweetheart the Drunk), and ponder this and stare at a famous painting of Icarus on my wall. Here is what I came up with: Icarus & his sweethearts,How ardent they exist!Laying, suns are his
