So, earlier this year I moved up to Duluth, and started working at Victoria's Secret. The new playlist we have there is pretty sweet. Basically, it's got the majority of female singers on it, that I listen to on a regular or semi-regular basis. You know how sometimes you listen to a highly touted band or singer, but something about the artist(s) just doesn’t click. Maybe it was after a recommendation by someone you trust - if you know what I mean, fellow MOGgers. Then, later in the game, you hear an irresistible song that you think that you’ve never heard before, and you’re so excited and delighted, and you must find out who it is. And it turns out to be something that was praised and endorsed before and that you... MORE

I've been really busy during these Thanksgiving holidays, so I have not spent much time posting or reading other posts. I actually don't have much time to make this post either, so it will be somewhat brisk. Earlier in this month, Grizzly Bear released a new EP entitled "Friend." My personal favorite track off of it so far is "He Hit Me." It is one of the few original songs on the EP, however. This may be surprising seeing as the EP is 11 songs long. That is the len... MORE
So I went to a The Decemberists concert and there was this really good opening act, they jammed, had crazy awesome American Indian type chanting, and a sweet indie rock aura about them. The band was Grizzly Bear and their latest album is Yellow House, and almost every song is great, the rest are just very good. It's very good music to just chill too, also some good night driving music, and good background music. It's got a good slow pace, yet has plenty going on to keep yo... MORE
Probably some hipsters from Brooklyn that i'd hate if I met them, but they know how to make music... good.

This is one of my favorite songs from last year's Yellow House, and boy is this a weird video. A flower-faced guy roams the woods randomly planting flowers everywhere while a creepy looking militant monster stalks and tries to kill him. At least they're keeping things interesting!

And the results are glorious. In my humble opinion anyway. The Grizzly Bear tune 'Knife' was one of my favorite songs from 2006...and Greg Gillis, aka Girl Talk, has totally reinvented it. I hope you guys like this as much as I did...layers on top of layers, a wonderful collage of sounds.
Well, hard to say how well my recommendation of one mogger to the others will go. When I first came across "Great Dane" Henry I tried pointing people in his direction and got no response, save from Disco. But very quickly thereafter people embraced him, so...? Anyways, mogger Magdalenus, based out of Phillie, does some interesting work with a video camera, has just started a live music blog with footage, and overall does some good writing - I particularly enjoy "The Po... If you guys haven't caught it already, you should definitely check out the new show on Vice Magazine's web video channel VBS.tv called "Practice Space" where they go to different band's spots and talk to them and listen to them, well, practice!
The new episode is one of my fave bands on the earth, and buddies of mine: Grizzly Bear.
