Blog post image preview Freedy Johnston is a road warrior. He must show up in the Philadelphia area at least 4 times per year, playing at small clubs. I like Freedy's CDs, and own 3 or 4 of them. I often read descriptions of Freedy Johnston's songs that make comparisons to short stories, and while he does create characters and situations as a writer would, Freedy strips away so much from the story that I don't think the comparison is apt. Listeners are given the bare minimum and encouraged to draw their own conclusions, whether they be about Freedy's life or yours.
