My friend Pat Thomas from S-F recently posted a best of 2007-blog where he shared some of the musical highlights of the previous year, according to his own eclectic tastes. http://www.myspace.com/pat_thomas Pat is a well-known figure in independent music - both as a performer and as a label head, editor, manager etc. There was a recent write-up on him in S-F Weekly, which is great but which just scratches the surface when it comes to all the stuff (from Absolute Grey, ... Gifted singer-songwriter Fionn Regan has released a clever and original low-cost vid that puts the majority of big budget music promos to shame. For his latest single Be Good Or Be Gone, Regan delivers the pretty yet defiant song direct to camera in increasingly ridiculous locations, including an elevator, a barber shop, and most memorably, a woodland stream. What's more, Regan sings live throughout, braving the indignity of being drowned out by ambient noise and bustle.... MORE

Well kiddies, this lady of the green-eyed sort has found such an artist in Fionn Regan. Quite lovely. Completely beguiling. Totally entrancing. Utterly Fey.... MORE
Through The Sparks
I just figured out how to spell Fionn Regan's name. Heard him on the radio a week or so ago and loved the literary references in his lyrics.
Enjoy his current tour around UK/Ire. I'm too far away.
I feel like I keep going on about him, but he's amazing. I'm just going to let his music speak for itself.
"Be Good Or Be Gone" from his debut album "The End of History". Btw, I've had this album since it was released last year and I still don't tire of it.
And my favourite song of his.
Just found this record today. Sort of a cross between Ben Kweller and Ryan Adams...good stuff....i like it at least.
Here is a song from his record "The End Of History"
Fionn Regan's video for Be Good Or Be Gone exemplifies the way in which sound interacts with its surroundings. It showcases how the acoustics of different places impact the music being played there. Each location offers a unique soundscape.
