Queen electro-vocalist Ellen Allien is about to release a brand new album on her own BPitch Control label. Her 4th studio album, SOOL is the follow-up to 2006's Orchestra of Bubbles and is due to drop May 27th. FACT Mag reports, "It's a more straight-forward, dancefloor-aimed affair than you might have hoped for, favouring supple, subtle minimal techno rhythm over the cascading synths and dreamy vocals that made Bubbles so moving and memorable." I've been on a major Ellen Allien kick lately, listening to her record with Apparat ("Orchestra Of Bubbles"), and her last solo record "Thrills", which is genius. I'm not a hardcore techno head by any stretch of the word, but it just seems like everything this woman gets involved wth is great.
