This is my Fourth list of the year. It is based on releases through August 19th. The Truckers are still #1 but almost got knocked off by The Hold Steady who debuted at #2. The other top debuts are Reckless Kelly at #5, Alejandro Escovedo at #7 and Chris Knight at #8. Anyway as always leave comments and tell me what an idiot or genius I am. I've been called a lot worse. Drive By Truckers put on a great show. They play marathon sets filled with some amazing rock moments. How can you go wrong with three lead guitarists?! Outfit is still my favorite tune. Have never seen my other faves live though, Nine Bullets and Steve Mcqueen. Bobby Bare Jr. is a unique mix of country, rock and punk. After experiencing the three lead guitar attack of DBT twice in the past two years, I was a bit nervous for my first post Jason Isbell experience. My friend books these free downtown NYC shows in the summer, so I was very lucky to be standing just 10 feet away from the band on the side of the stage, which certainly adds. go see them crush the fillmore on may 5th while i sulk at a wedding in KC. the most devastaing straight ahead southern, intellegent rock thing going. flying jack daniel bottles and great lyrics are a bonus. if they don't self destruct they are going to be big big big!

The highest debut is Old 97's at #4. Other notable debuts are My Morning Jacket at #8, Sonny Landreth at #11 and John Hiatt at #14. I haven't posted in quite awhile, mostly because I don't have internet access, so I'm posting this by other means. OK, Drive By Truckers. The name turned me off for awhile, but ever since I heard them I've been hooked. Maybe I'm a sucker for dual singers, which is something they do, but its a little more than that.
