The band isn't exactly new, but I just now saw reruns of Henry Rollins' show on IFC where they did this sick performance. They were at this year's Bonnaroo, too. And I dare you to listen to singer Dax Riggs' former band, the seminal Acid Bath, a sludgy, heavy-as-fuck Nawlins death metal outfit. Anyway, this video is amazing. if you don't know this band and you rock, this is a must for your collection. it blows my mind they're not more known. this album (tagged above) is the best ROCK record in a long long time. not since nirvana and early pearl jam have i been rocked better (exception for some white stripes, soundgarden and tool). cannot wait to see them at lollapolooza.

these guys are fucking cool and they rock too. great show at the cafe du nord a few months ago and they're playing again in the city by the bay on 9/21 at the independent. they get the inevitable white stripes comparison because the duo consists of a guitar playing male and drum playing female and they do play some heavy hard blues/rock riffs with a thorough deep swamp sound that also includes the quiet and damp side of the bayou. worht checking out for sure.... geez, just too much to write. but highlights were DEADBOY AND ELEPHANTMAN who i saw twice, BEASTIE BOYS PRIVATE SHOW , which was super fun, ART BRUTE , which have insane humour backed by killer melody, more akin to the kinks than a zappa. other highlight included THE FIERY FURNACES , and THE SUBWAYS . SLEATER KINNEY would have been good if they didn't play in an echo chamber. i had to leave the room quickly. TALIB KWELI kicked serious ass, and brought back all t... MORE
