Dave Mason (born David Thomas Mason, May 10 1944) is a musician — a singer, songwriter, and guitarist — from Worcester, England, who first found fame with the rock band Traffic. In his long career Mason has played and recorded with many of the era's notable musicians (including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Mama Cass Elliot).     Recently got to check out Dave Mason at a free show at Tanner Park in the Town of Babylon out on Long Island. The show was great. I last saw Dave Mason a few years back at Westbury and the free show was every bit as good as that one. The sound was even pertty good which I never expect at these park shows.     "Just a Song" came up on shuffle play. It's a trifle, nothing more. But back in the day, Alone Together was one of my very favorite albums, largely because Dave Mason's closing guitar solo on "Look at You, Look at Me" struck me as a perfect sonic expression of how I felt when I was tripping.
