A new video on David Tibet's my$pace is being touted as the first ever Current 93 video to be officially released. The song is actually a remix of C93's "Black Ships Ate The Sky" by JG Thirlwell (Foetus), but it is fully-sanctioned by the band. I read a really interesting article over the weekend, called "Death Grip" which purported to explain America's swing to the right following 9/11 according to a somewhat obtruse political/psychological theory called "terror management theory." Current 93 have announced that they will be performing in Florence, Italy on September 8th. C93 are also in the midst of reissuing The Inmost Light on double vinyl with a full colour gatefold sleeve and deluxe booklet with photos and text. Previously this album was only available as a 3CD trilogy. You can listen to songs from the album, including "All the Pretty Little Horses" with Nick Cave on vocals, in the Durtro online Shop. My copy of Black Ships Ate the Sky finally arrived from Strange Fortune yesterday. Now I used to absolutely love Current 93, but in recent years haven't found myself listening to them very much.
