Eno > Mac

Blank (24)
Blog post image preview when i touched down in phoenix last week, i had about an hour to kill before my next flight to austin. i plugged in my buds and flipped the switch to my player, knowing that the playlist i was on would grace my ears with something easy and comforting. funny enough, it was brian eno's 'music for airports.' all four tracks, in order, 48 minutes of ambient. i listened as i walked on the conveying thinger, as i changed into my flip flops, as i bought some gum, as i found my ne... THE BIG HERE AND LONG NOW (Brian Eno)

(77)
Free music video of MUSIC FOR AIRPORTS (9)
The Big Here and Long NowBy Brian Eno It was 1978. I was new to New York. A rich acquaintance had invited me to a housewarming party, and, as my cabdriver wound his way down increasingly potholed and dingy streets, I began wondering whether he’d got the address right. Finally he stopped at the doorway of a gloomy, unwelcoming industrial building. Two winos were crumpled on the steps, oblivious. There was no other sign of life in the whole street. "I think you may hav... MORE

More on Eno's 77 Million Paintings

Artist:
Other Tags: art, science
Following up on my previous post on the Luminous show in London...
From the Wired blog, Compiler This weekend, the Long Now Foundation will host the North American debut of 77 Million Paintings, a new digital art installation by renowned visual artist and musician Brian Eno. The stunning works are a combination of constantly evolving images and sounds, all controlled by a massive bank of Macintosh desktop computers humming behind the scenes. The title of the install... So, I guess I could write about something ...

So, with the summer underway, I have been working 6 of my 7 days per week, more often than not from 5 until 11 pm, a time traditionally degisnated for social interactions of my generation, leaving me fairly...unsocial, for lack of a better phrase. Thursdays have become my regular day off, which is becoming common knowledge to my closer friends, in case they look to hang out.Yesterday would have been one of those days, but, sadly, I was not contacted so I spent the night he... Blog post image preview Visited some indie record store today to get a buddha machine (got it in white) after reading an FM3 interview. Pretty interesting read, talks about the concept and philosophy behind the machine. So crude yet so wonderful.

Happy Sunday Morning (again)

(45)
I'm having trouble with MOGging today, but I'm going to try this one more time. If you already read this, I apologize for the repost, but even though the post showed up in the mogosphere it never made it to my home page, which really bugs me . . . Anyway. just wanted to share one of my favorite early mornign songs with everyone. I'm wondering what songs everyone else likes to listen to to wake up?

Happy Sunday Morning!

(97)
Seeing as how I'm up earlier than I want to be, I figured I'd share one of my favorite early morning songs with everyone, "An Ending (Ascent)" by Brian Eno. What does everyone else like to start their day off with?

Blog post image preview Kate's post about CAN has got me fired up about ENO this morning (waving flag!) as though my mission to proselytize the MOGGERS has failed. Suddenly I realize that I have been sleepily neglecting my post. As though all the stealth and subterfuge were for naught.Today I take arms and we march headfirst into this melee. I really felt that it was time to expose the innocent citizens of MOG to EnoWeb I WOULD WARN YOU TO BE QUITE CAREFUL...................................... MORE

Blog post image preview About a month ago oferico told me we need some sound events for our "product". You know, those tiny little "woohoo!" noises that sound to notify you when "something happens" on your computer. As a music lover I got curious about these little analogue sounds that most of the time are just too minor to be noticed, so you can hardly imagine that someone actually set down to compose them. I mean, have you ever got to think about who actually wrote the Windows startup sound? ... MORE
