summary the "Prince" releases the counterpoint to his previous masterwork, "I See A Darkness" - and leaves us wondering which is more terrifying.

There are few heroes in the indie-world.

In this landscape of conciousness connected almost solely on the single principle of popularity-as-poison it's near impossible for legends to manifest themselves - the bright flame of their influence imploding as quickly as it's birthed thanks to hipsters near impenetrable she... MORE

MissBreadCrumb made a post which got me thinking about all of you and what tunes do you listen to when you roll out of bed and head off to work. For me it depends on what type of a mood I'm in, but I've noticed that there are a few consistencies. Ease On Down The Road by Bonnie "Prince" Billy is an album I put on a lot in my mornings. There is a song on that album called "Knight At Night" which has the lyric in it "This is how I start another day in my kingdom," which st... MORE

but I'm not going. It actually hurts. It really does. I would love to see him live......................but I have plans. I wanna go back to Coachella next year. I wanna make it happen. I am saving every penny. The Bonnie Prince Billy show would cost me 50 dollars. So.......................50 dollars down. 1950 dollars to go. I have to settle for the music. The soundtrack to this post will be "A King at Night" from the "Ease Down the Road" album. How are you guys doi... MORE

I will forever associate all of Will Oldham's music with alcohol. I just love the downtrodden beauty of his songs...so stark, so beautiful. I am loving the new album...and I am getting thirsty,

What is it about Will Oldham that seems to render so compelling any song on which he appears? His voice is immensely full of character, of course. But I think there is something more important still: the simple intensity of his performance. "Performance" is, I think, key. Music recording technology allows musicians to splice together takes, "punch in" a re-recorded version of a vocal phrase that didn't quite come out right. As a recording musician myself, I'm all too awa... MORE

As yesterday heralded the official arrival of Autumn and its vibrant colours, allow me to share this little sweet fruit drop with you.
(The song also features Red)
To all of you, I wish a Merry Autumn and a Happy New Week.
PS: Sorry for implicitly discriminating those of you who live in the southern hemisphere. Hey, it must be spring now.

Sunday Covers: Bonnie "Prince" Billy meets Mariah

sorry, I just threw up in my mouth a little. As much as I dislike everything that Princess Mariah stands for, Will Oldham seems to make everything a little better... meets (with fake, drawn on abs)

Now wait until last year

I like how people from the past can find you on facebook and how you can search for past crushes and things like that. It is so easy to stalk when your bored or should be doing other stuff. Here is a song about finding people on facebook (it's not really, but you know, whatever). B"Prince"B knows...

Thunder Road

I sometimes forget what a great songwriter Bruce Springsteen was. Or is...I don't mean to eulogize the guy, its just that I think sometimes I am guilty of overlooking him sometimes...probably because during my formative music years, he wasn't really on my radar so much...but he did pen some classics...just wanted to share this Bonnie Prince Billy version of 'Thunder Road'

Playing "Strange Form of Life." For those interested in higher quality video, the Conan performance is up on various bittorrent trackers as well. Four BPB shows in/around LA alone next month ... can't wait to see him live! Note: This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5 License.

As school starts up for me this fall I know that I will busy but I intend to use this as a way to release some of the pressure. This is one of my favorite albums and one of my favorite artists. I would go so far as to say that there isn't a weak song on the collection. With for me the best song being "I gave you" Just watch and grow depressed with me but it is such a good depressed.

She made a sarcastic comment about me liking upbeat music on my last post...I can't have her going around ruining my hard earned reputation! So I present the saddest song I know...some call this depressing, I call it beautiful
