TakingOutGlory's review of "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me"
-
Artist:
MOG (and Xanga) user TakingOutGlory has reviewed Brand New's new album "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me," and I think it is one of the best album reviews I have read. I'm not sure if he has it on here yet, but you can access it at www.xanga.com/TakingOutGlory for the time being. I have contacted him and asked him to put the review on his MOG site, so it will hopefully be up shortly. I strongly encouraged anyone interested in Brand New's music (or simply reading honest, powerfully written reviews) to take a look at this.some teasers from the review:"...I have now had two weeks to spend listening to Brand New's "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me." The ironic part is the title itself reflects the difficulty I've had figuring out exactly how I feel about the album.""...The album's highlight, "Limousine", is the one song on the disc that only Brand New could pull off...the listener is taken on an emotional, audial oddyssey...as Lacey sings, "I died for you one time, but never again", and over the next few minutes uses repetition as an artform with perfection.""..."Not the Sun", evokes Lacey's worst lyrical (yet, initially, musically promising) content to date with horribly oversung and overplaced lines, like 'be my bait' and 'you are not the sun.'"check out TakingOutGlory's MOG page or www.xanga.com/TakingOutGlory for the full review....
