MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Universal Music Group and Afeni Shakur's Amaru Records have been hit with a $10 million by R&B/Jazz singer Esther Williams. Williams claims both Ghostface Killah & 2pac Shakur used her music without permission on shakurs "Late Night" and Ghostface's "Last Night Skit". Williams oringinal song "Last Night Changed It All" was released in 1976.
Being that 2pac Shakur was killed in 1996, and the song Amaru Ent. is being sued for was released on 2002's "Better Dayz", the incident is likely a record label error and not a mistake made by the rapper. The Ghostface skit in question was releaesed on 2004's "Pretty Toney Album".
Williams has worked with a number of high profile artists, and in 1998 opened a non-profit organization called the Washington Jazz Arts Institute. Williams has declined public comment on the matter as of now.
