As goofy as it looks, and as much as people on the internet questioned its validity, "The Red Album" cover from Weezer is 100% real.
"Yes, that's absolutely the cover," Jim Merlis, the band's publicist, told MTV News. "It's what they chose. They looked at a bunch of mockups, and that's the one they decided to go with. It's not a joke."
The publicist had no idea what sort of message or effect the band were going for when they shot the cover, only offering "It's Weezer, man," with a shrug.
How do you guys like this?

I'd rather have just the red background and name than the very odd (and corny) promo photo added in. Im not liking this, but as long as the music's good, the cover can be sub-par i guess..

I think it's ok, but why is the main dude a cowboy all the sudden?
My Trusted MOGs
I don't know anything about Weezer, and I'm not claiming to, but it seems like they're making statements about styles (probably pertaining to music specifically). There's the dude in the tiny hat??? There's the nerd/business dude/straight arrow. There's the cowboy/country dude. There's the metal dude. That assessment aside, I love how the publicist... THE PUBLICIST says "It's Weezer, man" with a shrug. Hilarious
