MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:

Big Boi and Dre will both be releasing solo albums within the next 7 months (!!!), and will follow that up with a full fledged Outkast album in '09.

Big and Dre both spoke with MTV on separate occasions and echoed the same sentiments about their plans. "We got a few songs we already picked out," Big explained. "We pick the beats first. I drop my [solo album] in July, Dre puts his out [later this year], and we drop that Outkast record at the top of [next] year."

Big Boi's solo album Sir Luscious Left Foot will be in stores before the end of the summer.

"Thirteen cuts. Everything is brand new," he promised. "I got a duet with Mary J. Blige that will probably be the second single, called 'The World Is Too Big.' It's definitely monumental. I needed somebody that could sing with that emotion and power. Like an old-school soul singer. That Motown throat! I always wanted to work with her."

I have my doubts about a new outkast album being in stores "at the top of 2009"... but if we get a solo album from each of them by the end of the year thats even better to me.

Yea, solo stuff will be great enough, but if they do release an Outkast album early '09, that will just be frosting on the cake.
